Shaurya pov
There’s a strange kind of peace in knowing you’ve finally cornered the one person who’s always eluded you. A calm that settles in my chest, despite the storm raging inside. Aarvi Singhaniya... I always knew this day would come. Never imagined it would feel like this—like a quiet before the chaos. But now that it's here, I can taste the finality of it. The moment when everything changes.
Finally. We’re here. The moment I’ve been waiting for. You’re trapped, Aarvi Singhaniya, and there’s no way out. No escape from the hell I’m about to unleash on you. The cage I’m about to lock you in. You will be mine—no more running, no more hiding. From now on, you’ll live in my world, bound by the chains of your family's sins, and you’ll never escape. Not now, not ever.
I watched her every movement, captivated by the delicate grace she carried so effortlessly. Pure, yet fierce. A contradiction I couldn’t quite understand. Her tears fell, and I found myself staring, wondering why they didn’t give me the satisfaction I had been craving. Why didn’t they bring me the peace I thought I would feel? Her lashes fluttered, and in that brief, trembling silence, she spoke the words I had been waiting for.
"I’m ready to marry you."
For a moment, I couldn’t move. The world around me seemed to stop, and all I could focus on were those words. The ones that meant victory. But there was something in her voice—something that felt like a challenge. Like a spark of defiance I hadn’t expected.
A deep satisfaction coursed through me, finally. As if a part of me that had been missing had just clicked into place. My grip on her wrist tightened, pulling her closer, feeling her heart pound against mine.
"Ready to marry me?" I repeated, the words tasting different on my tongue now. Darker. Laced with something I couldn’t quite name.
Aarvi didn’t flinch. She didn’t tremble like I thought she would. Instead, she looked at me—eyes blazing, defiant, but something else there too. Something I hadn’t anticipated.
"Yes," she said, her voice steady but daring, as if she knew exactly what she was doing. "But know this, Shaurya. I’m not doing this because you’ve broken me. I’m doing this because it’s the only way I can get my revenge."
Revenge. That word. It hit me harder than I wanted it to. I leaned in closer, my breath harsh against her skin. "Revenge?" I whispered, my voice dangerous, my hand moving to the back of her neck, holding her there. "You think you can play a game with me, butterfly?"
Her silence burned into me, the tension between us thickening. And for the first time in years, I questioned everything I thought I knew about this woman. Maybe, just maybe, I had underestimated her.
